DJ Kojak (Co-Founder)

Growing up in Newark, NJ, this DJ’s love for mixing and blending began at age 14, inspired by his older cousin DJ Felix Jr. and his good friend DJ Al Perez. Early exposure to Technics 1200 turntables and family-led gigs, including time with DJ Felix Enrique and his company LaBeat Productions, helped shape his foundational skills.

Life led him to temporarily set down the headphones to focus on his law enforcement career and family, but the passion for music never left. In 2008, a visit to fellow DJ DJ Creme’s studio reignited that spark.

Purchasing new equipment for fun quickly turned into gig requests, and he evolved with the trade—embracing modern controllers while keeping the love for the craft alive.

In 2016, he reunited with childhood friends DJ CANO Jimenez and DJ AL P, and together they began mixing on Mixlr. By 2017, the three combined their stations to form Veteran Squad Radio (VSR). With DJ CANO as CEO and DJ AL P and himself as founding members, the station grew into a thriving music family, welcoming guest DJs who quickly became part of the VSR team.

At VSR, their mission is simple: mix for the love of music and support one another. As he often says in the chat:
